Our skin’s 24*7 exposure to pollution, sun’s harmful UV rays, treated waters, unhealthy diet and lifestyle leads to poor skin texture and discoloration. Fighting with acne, blackheads, pigmentation is way far enough to let discoloration of the skin get added to that list too??? No. We do not want that.
I have got these amazing tried and tested effective and easy home remedies to treat dull skin. Apart from using different types of drug store and high end skincare products, which are at the end of the day- chemicals. We can definitely give a try for home remedies which are safe and the ingredients are also easily available in our pantries.
So, let us see what we have got here:
1. Almonds and dehusked black gram(urad dal):
This is my first and favourite home remedy to treat dull skin. In fact, I always have a jar of this diy remedy handy.
Take 1 cup of de-husked black gram or urad dal(dal maash) and a quarter cup of almonds. Grind them to a finely coarsed mixture. That’s it !!!
You can use this natural home made exfoliator to de-tan a dull skin and bring a brightening element to it. Use it daily to wash face, neck, hands and even feet to get rid off dark spots and visible tan. Start by rinsing face and then a spoonful amount is enough to scrub off the dirt.

The creamy and pasty texture of the lentil makes the skin soft and supple and the almonds get to become the direct source of vitamin E to the skin. Isn’t it amazing???
You can use this fine scrub daily or even alternate days. This does not strip off the skin barrier and is safe for all skin types. Just be gentle while you scrub your way along : )
2. Honey and lemon :
We all know how honey acts as a natural anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant. Also lemon is a great natural bleach.

Just a teaspoon of raw honey and 2 -3 drops of lemon are good to give you a bright skin. Mix both the ingredients and massage on rinsed face and neck for about 8 -10 minutes every alternate days and see the glow.
3. Oats and yoghurt :
Oats and yoghurt face mask is great for sensitive skin. If your skin is highly reactive to the chemical harsh exfoliators, then you got to try this easy and skin smoothening oatmeal face mask.

Start by grinding 2-3 tablespoon of oats and mixing 2 tablespoon of yoghurt to make thick paste. Apply on face and neck and keep it for about 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry with clean towel.
Yoghurt keeps the skin cool, while making it soft and supple while the anti inflammatory properties of the oats helps to fight any irritation on the skin making it clear.
Use this face mask twice a week till you get required results.
4. Tomato Cubes:
This is the best starter diy remedy for any skin issue to treat acne scars, pigmentation, skin lightening etc., and I personally love it.
All you need is some good organic tomatoes. Rinse them nicely, de-seed(Optional) them and without adding any water, grind them to a puree.

You guessed the next step correctly!
Pour the tomato puree in small ice cubes tray and freeze it. Voila!!!
Your ever-ready diy cubes to quick treat your skin for make-up prep, lightening acne scars, skin brightening, tan removal and the list is endless.
Just applying the cubes anytime to give your skin a natural treatment. If you are sensitive for temperatures, you can wrap the cube in a clean thin face cloth and then apply it. Rinse off after some time.
Even if you are lazy enough to let them tomatoes into cubes, you can slice a tomato in to two halves and rub it all over you face and neck and then rinse off. As simple as that!
5. Rice flour and milk:
Rice flour can be used for various skin concerns. Rice powder can absorb excess oil and give soft touch for your skin.
Take 2 teaspoon of rice powder and mix raw milk to make a paste.
You can use this as a face mask or even gently massage it onto your face. Rinse off with cold water.

The best thing about home remedies is that a single remedy can serve for more than one issue and also are gentle and safe.
